Tour · White River, Ocho Rios, Jamaica
White River Tubing
The White River runs down out of the hills east of Ocho Rios, and for about an
hour you sit in an inner tube and let it carry you. There is nothing to learn, no
paddle, nothing to fall off. Guides float alongside the group, nudge you away from
the rocks, and pull the tubes back together at the calm stretches.
It is genuinely relaxing rather than an adrenaline thing. The river runs
between bamboo and jungle most of the way, the water is cool and clear, and there
are a couple of small rapids that make people laugh but nothing that will frighten
a child.
Who it suits
Almost everyone, which is why we suggest it to groups who cannot agree on
anything else. Life vests are provided and worn throughout. Minimum age is six.
What to bring
Swimwear, shoes you can get wet, a towel and dry clothes, sunscreen, and a hat
and sunglasses for the open stretches. A waterproof camera if you have one. Bring
a little cash for the stop afterwards.
