Portland, Jamaica
Port Antonio
villas
Port Antonio is on the north-east coast in Portland, roughly two and a half hours from Kingston and four from Montego Bay. It is the least developed part of luxury Jamaica — greener, wetter, with the Blue Lagoon and Frenchman’s Cove nearby, and almost no cruise traffic or resort strip.

The trade-off nobody mentions
Portland is the wettest parish in Jamaica — that is why it is so green. Expect rain most days at some point, usually brief. It is also a long drive from Montego Bay, where most international flights land, so getting here costs the better part of a day at each end. In exchange you get a coast with no crowds, no vendors and no cruise ships. People who love Port Antonio really love it, and people who wanted a straightforward beach holiday sometimes wish they had gone west.
Getting here
From the
airport
A private transfer from Norman Manley International Airport into New Kingston takes about 25 minutes and is quoted on request for up to six passengers. Longer runs east to Port Antonio take around two and a half hours and are quoted separately, with the price fixed before you travel.
