Westmoreland, Jamaica
Negril villas
& rentals
Negril is on the western tip of Jamaica in Westmoreland, about ninety minutes from Montego Bay airport. It divides into two quite different halves: Seven Mile Beach, which is flat, sandy and shallow, and the West End cliffs, where the land drops straight into deep water and the sunsets are the main event.

Where you base yourself changes the trip more than the villa does. Here is how the areas actually differ.
Straight answers
Beach or cliffs — they are not interchangeable
People book Negril for the beach and end up on the cliffs, or the reverse, and it changes the holiday entirely. On the beach side you walk out of the garden onto sand and into calm shallow water. On the cliff side there is no beach at all — you get in by ladder or by jumping, the water is deep immediately, and the compensation is that you watch the sun go down over open sea from your own terrace. Both are wonderful. Only one of them works with small children.
Getting here
From the
airport
Negril is about 80 km from Montego Bay airport and the drive takes roughly an hour and a half along the coast road through Lucea. A private transfer is quoted on request for up to six passengers, with a fixed price agreed before you travel and no surcharge for a delayed flight.
