Weddings at
a Jamaican villa
A villa wedding in Jamaica means the venue, the accommodation and the reception are the same place, so guests do not travel between them. Most estates that host weddings cap at around 60 to 80 guests. Jamaica has a short residency requirement before marrying, which is straightforward but needs planning.
Why the villa route suits smaller weddings
Under about eighty guests, a villa or estate almost always beats a hotel. The wedding party stays on site, the ceremony and reception happen in the grounds, and there is no shuttling people between venues at midnight. Above that number the logistics tip the other way and a resort starts to make more sense.
The legal side, briefly
Jamaica requires a short period on the island before you can marry, and paperwork submitted in advance. It is one of the more straightforward Caribbean destinations for this, but the requirements do change and we are not lawyers — we will point you at a local marriage officer who does this weekly rather than guess at the current rules.
