Kingston, Jamaica
Kingston
rentals
Kingston is the capital and the part of Jamaica most visitors never see. It is a working city rather than a resort, and the rental market here is condos and houses in the uptown neighbourhoods rather than beach villas. Norman Manley International is about twenty-five minutes from New Kingston.

Straight answers
Who Kingston actually suits
If you are coming to Jamaica for a beach, Kingston is the wrong city and there is no polite way to say otherwise — the nearest good swimming is a drive away. If you are coming for the music, the food, the galleries, a business trip, or to see the country rather than a resort version of it, then Kingston is the most interesting place on the island by a distance. Plenty of repeat visitors add two or three nights here at the end of a north coast trip, which works well.
Getting here
From the
airport
A private transfer from Norman Manley International Airport into New Kingston takes about 25 minutes and is quoted on request for up to six passengers. Longer runs east to Port Antonio take around two and a half hours and are quoted separately, with the price fixed before you travel.
